The title CMYK is the designation for the four-color system that it is used in today’s printing technology in order to create an image. The works presented in the exhibition CMYK have indeed nothing in common with this printing technique, but it works as a comprehensive approach, that opens up first an analytical coexistence and then the possible mixture between them. In their work, the four artists pursue a re-constructive approach. In order to follow this approach, they place fragments, stories or ruins of history. These reconstructions or re-organizations follow unexpected, unconventional principles. And at the same time they create new contexts.

How is “heritage-being” reinterpreted and makes it available for other perspectives? How is “legacy” formed with current resources? How does “heritage” bed new configurations, thus enabling diverse readings? Moreover, how to create new contexts in which various additions or decryptions are possible?

Reconstruction and new contexts together produce a picture that is actively created and influenced by interventions. On the other hand, this picture exists de facto, even if it is only perceived through the veil, through which the action of the artist has spread over it. Just as the title CMYK is reminiscent of the creation, but also to the appearance of colour, Silvina Der-Meguerditchian speaks of a moiré effect to denote a veiling, the disorder, but that also means transparency. She sees this effect, through which the light is can be perceived only by one or more grids, happening differently in each position. However, reconstruction and re-contextualization are still together for the indirect recognition of facts or codes. Therefore, can CMYK form an overall concept in which penetrate and boost various forms of this structure. Therefore, at the end stands the insight, that the recognition, that brings peace, is firsts suggested aesthetically and then it appears.
