Projekt des Fachgebiets Produkt-Design in Kooperation mit BMW - Ausstellung
Licht prägt wesentlich die Art und Weise, wie wir Objekte und Räume wahrnehmen. Neue Technologien erlauben es, leuchtfähige Komponenten nahtlos und direkt in Objekte zu integrieren und ihnen damit eine weitere Gestaltungsdimension zu verleihen: Objekte können sich verändern, gewinnen eine zeitliche Ausdehnung, reagieren auf ihre Umwelt, bzw. ihr Gegenüber, werden zum Kommunikationskanal. In dem Projekt „Shaping Light“ des Fachgebiets Produkt-Design der Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee (Kooperationspartner: BMW) ging es darum, das Gestaltungspotential von Licht im Zusammenspiel mit Objekt, Raum und Zeit auszuloten und die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse in Form von exemplarischen Exponaten erfahrbar zu machen.
Die Ergebnisse des Projekts „Shaping Light“ werden im Foyer der Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, Bühringstraße 20, 13086 Berlin, vom 9. bis zum 20. Dezember 2013, montags bis freitags von 8-20 Uhr gezeigt.

Shaping Light. Project of the Department Product Design in Cooperation with BMW - Exhibition
Light plays an essential role in our perception of objects and spaces. New technologies allow to integrate illumination seamlessly into objects, thus adding another dimension that needs to be designed purposefully: now objects are able to change their appearance, so they are expanding into the forth dimension: time. They can also react to their surroundings, thus turning into a medium of communication. The project „Shaping Light“ based in the Academy of Art´s department product design (in cooperation with BMW) explored the potential of designing light in relation to object, space and time. It was aimed to illustrate these learning by creating experimental, graspable artifacts.
The results of the project are shown from 9th to 20th December 2013, Monday to Friday, 8 am. - 8 pm. in the Foyer of the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin.
