„Tis not too late to seek a newer world“
Ausstellungsdauer: 29.02. – 25.03.2008

“Tis not too late to seek a newer world“
Duration of the exhibition: 2008, Feb 29th until March 25th
In this exhibition the artist faces up with her experiences of migration. Herself being from Argentina and living and working in Rome she knows about the concernments of lives changes. Starting with her own microcosm she expands it to the existential macrocosm of human being. The exhibition shows objects, light boxes and sculptures under Plexiglas.
The works of Fontenla often take up imaginary things. Cities and places one wishes for but they don’t exist (yet) at least not in reality. It is also about the subject to be able to carry things with, that plays a role in her life as a migrant. The visitor will discover white suitcases, which allegorize a notional (but real exhibition-) baggage. With that the artist interprets thoughts and they contain a lot that seems to be important for people. This mental fullness causes life being demanding but also intense and many faceted.
Ines Fontenla studied at the art academies of Buenos Aires, Madrid and Rome. Solo exhibitions made her especially known in the Italian region. Numerous important institutions showed her work in the past years. She also has been presented in Germany, Denmark and Belgium.
