Das Rumänische Kulturinstitut Berlin lädt Sie herzlich zur Premiere von DREAM GALLERY ein! Das neue partizipative Projekt wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit einem transdisziplinären Kollektiv entwickelt und findet vom 23. bis 25. März 2024 im Kunstraum des RKI-Berlin statt.

Mit dem Ziel, die Vorstellungen über die Bedeutung eines Ausstellungsraums zu erweitern, wird die DREAM GALLERY zu einem kreativen Labor für performatives Denken, das die Trennlinien zwischen Bildender Kunst und Darstellender Kunst verschwimmen lässt.

Dem Projekt ging ein „Call for dreams“ voraus, der Träumer aus der ganzen Welt dazu aufforderte, ihre wiederkehrenden Traumerlebnisse einzureichen, um den Puls der Menschheit auf die tiefgreifenden Veränderungen unserer Zeit erfassen und dokumentieren zu können. Basierend auf diesem Traumarchiv hat Regisseurin und Drehbuchautorin Iulia Grigoriu nun genügend Bezüge und gemeinsame Muster aufgedeckt, um ihre einleitende These über die rätselhafte Beziehung zwischen Tag und Nacht – den Bereichen des Konkreten und des Unterbewussten – zu formulieren.

Die erste Folge der DREAM GALLERY „führt die Teilnehmer*innen durch eine immersive Reise, die die Grenzen zwischen dem Oneirischen und der Realität überwindet. Inspiriert von den Träumen von Larisa Ple?ca, Romulus Boicu und Sabine Künster, taucht dieses Erlebnis in die Tiefen unseres kollektiven Unterbewusstseins ein und erlaubt es uns allen, die Absurditäten zu konfrontieren, die in den innersten Schichten des Geistes verborgen sind. Dabei werden wir erkennen, dass die Realität kein starres Konstrukt ist, sondern ein fließendes Konzept, geformt von unseren Wahrnehmungen und Entscheidungen”. (Iulia Grigoriu)

Die performative Projektlinie DREAM GALLERY wurde als ein episodisches und interdisziplinäres künstlerisches Format entworfen. Die Veranstaltungsreihe wird in den Intervallen zwischen den einzelnen Ausstellungskapiteln der [Ceci n'est pas une] Gallery stattfinden.

The Romanian Cultural Institute Berlin is thrilled to invite you to the premiere of DREAM GALLERY – a new participatory project developed alongside a transdisciplinary collective on March 23-24-25, 2024, at [Ceci n'est pas une] Gallery, the art space of RKI-Berlin.

With the aim of expanding the perceptions of what an exhibition space entails, and to further blur the lines between contemporary arts and theatrical play, DREAM GALLERY becomes a creative lab for performative thinking.

The project was preceded by a public “Call for dreams” where dreamers around the world were encouraged to submit their recurrent oneiric experiences in an attempt to grasp and document humanity’s responses to the profound changes of today. Building upon this Archive of dreams, director and scriptwriter Iulia Grigoriu has now uncovered enough connections and collective patterns to formulate her inaugural thesis on the enigmatic relationship between day and night—the domains of the concrete and the subconscious.

The first episode of DREAM GALLERY “leads participants through an immersive journey that transcends the boundaries between the oneiric and reality. Drawing inspiration from the dreams of Larisa Ple?ca, Romulus Boicu, and Sabine Künster, the experience delves into the depths of our collective subconscious, allowing us to all confront the absurdities found within the inner layers of the mind. In doing so, we will come to understand that reality is not a rigid construct but rather a fluid concept shaped by our perceptions and choices”. (Iulia Grigoriu)

Conceived as a cycle of interactive performative events, the project line DREAM GALLERY will unfold as an intermittent, cross-disciplinary artistic format occurring in the intervals set between the exhibition chapters hosted by [Ceci n’est pas une] Gallery.
