Wie sich Raum nehmen und was dann damit tun? Die Gruppenausstellung Domus Square Dance zeigt Audioarbeiten, Filme, Fotos, Zeichnungen, Installationen und Skulpturen zum Thema „Haus“. Eröffnet wird die Ausstellung mit einer Performance von Elisabeth Rosenthal. Ihr Werk nimmt die Sehnsüchte ins Visier, die Hausbauprojekte motivieren. Einige der Künstler:innen wiederum konterkarieren diese Sehnsüchte, wenn sie Gefahren inszenieren, die gerade da lauern, wo mensch sich zu Hause glaubt. Weitere Arbeiten transzendieren den Raum des klassisch Häuslichen oder erkunden – architektonisch inspiriert, wie die Welt draußen wohnlich gestaltet werden könnte. Grenzen zwischen Innen und Außen, Intimität und Öffentlichkeit werden zum Thema.

How to take space and then what to do with it? The group exhibition Domus Square Dance shows audio works, films, photos, drawings, installations and sculptures on the theme of ‘house’. The exhibition opens with a performance by Elisabeth Rosenthal. Her work focuses on the desires that motivate house-building projects. Some artists, in turn, counteract these longings by staging dangers that lurk precisely where people think they are at home. Other works transcend the space of the classically domestic or explore - architecturally inspired - how the world outside could be made cosy. Boundaries between inside and outside, intimacy and publicity become a theme.
