Performance um 21 Uhr (Zunehmender Mond): TYCHO von Seiji Morimoto

"Earth´s Shadow, Moons Crust" ist eine Ausstellung, die unsere anhaltende Faszination für den Mond untersucht – nicht als fernes Himmelsobjekt, sondern als Spiegel unseres irdischen Daseins. Kuratiert von Ece Pazarbaşı vereint die Ausstellung Werke von Alice Dittmar und Stella Geppert, die fragen: Wie nehmen wir den Mond wahr – ausgehend von unserem eigenen Standpunkt, verwurzelt in unseren Körpern, unserem Atem und den natürlichen Rhythmen der Erde?

Verankert in den Phasen des Mondes und den Sonnenwenden entfaltet sich die Ausstellung durch skulpturale, performative und poetische Arbeiten, die die Grenzen zwischen Persönlichem und Planetarischem verschwimmen lassen. Sie schlägt vor, dass unser Verständnis des Kosmos hier beginnt – in der Beschaffenheit von Substanzen und Materialien, im Rhythmus des Atems und in den reflektierenden Qualitäten des Wassers.

Zum öffentlichen Programm gehören eine Klangperformance von Seiji Morimoto sowie eine choreografierte Live-Performance von Stella Geppert mit Lyllie Rouviere. Beide Veranstaltungen sind mit bestimmten Mondphasen synchronisiert und vertiefen den Dialog zwischen Himmelsbewegung und menschlicher Erfahrung.

Earth`s Shadow, Moon`s Crust lädt dazu ein, den Mond nicht nur wissenschaftlich oder symbolisch zu erkunden, sondern durch verkörperte Wahrnehmung – dort, wo der Blick nach außen auch ein Blick nach innen wird.

“Earth´s Shadow, Moon´s Crust” is an exhibition that explores our enduring fascination with the moon—not as a distant celestial object, but as a mirror of earthly existence. Curated by Ece Pazarbaşı, the exhibition brings together works by Alice Dittmar and Stella Geppert that ask: How do we perceive the moon—rooted in our own vantage points, in our bodies, our breath, and the natural rhythms of the Earth?

Anchored in the phases of the moon and the solstices, the exhibition unfolds through sculptural, performative, and poetic works that blur the boundaries between the personal and the planetary. It suggests that our understanding of the cosmos begins here—within the textures of matter, the rhythm of breathing, and the reflective qualities of water.

The public program includes a sound performance by Seiji Morimoto and a choreographed live performance by Stella Geppert with Lyllie Rouvière. Both are synchronized with specific lunar phases and deepen the dialogue between celestial movement and human experience.

“Earth´s Shadow, Moon´s Crust” invites us to explore the moon not only through scientific or symbolic lenses, but through embodied perception—where looking outward also becomes an act of looking inward.
